Hi looking for some help ,I’m suspecting my hen has a dislocated hip , she limps but is still able to get around , hops on the roosts, free ranges, she does lay down more but she manages.

Is there a fix without taking her to a vet? And if not , is it okay to let her live like this?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Is the leg displaced at all, or she's just limping? If it was dislocated I doubt that she would put weight on it at all. How long has she been limping? She may have just tweaked or sprained it jumping off a roost or got it caught on something, and rest and time may be all it needs. If you think it's more than that, then do a thorough comparison of both legs comparing the injured one to the non-injured one to see if there are differences, like swelling or something feels broken. If you suspect a fracture near the hip then a vet is definitely your best option, upper leg breaks can be difficult to heal and may require pins. I really don't think that is the case, since she is able to get on the roosts. If this is something that just happened, then I'd give her some time and see if she improves with rest.

**EDIT** - just wanted to add, if you have not done so, check the bottom of the feet for any bumblefoot, common cause of limping.
