Dislocated or deformed?

Two of my ducks hatched a couple ducklings and I removed this one to put with some other ducklings in my brooder because it seemed to have a problem with its leg. The leg looks fully formed although it seems the joints are fused because they don’t move and the foot is upside down. So my question is this: is it’s leg dislocated or just deformed from birth? It is about 2 weeks old. It hops on one foot pretty well and is eating and drinking with the others.

Thoughts?

why is that always your answer? I just don't get it? Let's try other things before "putting it down"! Possibly it could be fixed easily and have a nice life.

Even if you can't fix it, as long as it seems healthy and pain free, I think it's ok. You could try a shoe just a little at a time. Don't try to correct all at once I think. Others better than me should be along shortly.

Yeah its a birth defect, if you cant move it at all like its fused then it cant realy be fixed

But it can live a full life... if it can get around on one leg well enough.

ive seen 1 legged seagulls and ducks and other birds

I am sorry I am just now seeing this. I had a little runt that had a curled up foot and was so weak that I was scared I was going to lose her. I gave her liquid B Complex and made her a little shoe. Believe it or not you would not even know now that she had a deformed foot unless I showed you. And she is healthy and thriving now with her sisters. She is actually the leader of the pekin pack! I hope yours gets better.

It’s amazing how disabled poultry can adapt I hope you’ll post back so we can keep up with how your little one is doing. @quackiemama has good advise.
