Dismantling duck pen, need advice on disposing of sand and gravel

Hello,

My Vancouver urban duck experiment ended last fall, and now I need to dismantle the duck pen. I had put down a layer of pea gravel and a layer of sand, which of course has a fair amount of duck poo mixed in. Since I'm going to be moving out of this house, I need to dig it all out.

Any suggestions for getting rid of the sand and gravel?

I don't know if I can get a landscaping company to take it away, due to the duck poo.

PS- I miss my duckies, I miss the eggs, and I'll certainly do it again when I'm in a position to.

Build some type of grate to wash it all out over. A simple frame with hardware cloth on the bottom and a strong water hose should do the trick. As for getting rid of it- Craigslist.
