well my 8 peafowl eggs were all doing perfect..yesterday morning i went to open up the barn & let everyone out & found 6 of them out of the nest, ice cold...ugh.
out of the 6, 1 was cracked & bleeding a small amount of blood.
I took them in , along with the 2 still under the hens & warmed them back up, I also used wax on the cracked bleeding one.
well today i candeled & it looks like 6 are dead
What a shame, it is impossible to find peafowl eggs to buy here in MA..and shipping..well Ive only ever had 1 sucessful shipped egg hatch out of about 200..so im not even going to bother.
I was so excited for these to hatch this weekend.
I guess its time to buy a brinsea 'bator & throw out the little giant so that i can start hatching in the house all the time.
if anyone knows of anyone in the new england area who sells peafowl eggs or day olds..let me know, i would drive quite a ways to get them.
I just wont buy older ones, they dont tame up the same as when you hatch them yourself.
