And I thought the size of my nest boxes would be to small for j giants. If they can get two reg. ones in there a big one should fit Lol!

Yeah, it's going to be a bit pricier, but it would be interesting to test. If you could boost tomato seedlings wit ha week or two of soda water watering, it would be pretty cool. I read some semi scientific report where they had tested it on twelve plants (don't remember the species) for ten days, in identical lighting and soil conditions. Half got regular water, half got club soda. During the ten days, the plants watered with water grew 67% taller than what they were in the beginning, while the ones watered with club soda grew 170%. It might just promote legginess too though. So I don't know if there's any point. The leaves in the experiment also looked healthier on the ones grown with club soda.

I'd like to see more broken patterns on some but they're a work in progress. They look to have good type and size. Those are the hardest things to fix. Mine aren't perfect either. last year everything I kept either had great size and poor makings or undersize and awesome markings.
Kinda what I thought after your big post. Work to do. But I am hoping to trade with some local people in the fall too. There is another auction sale in the fall that I plan to actually buy at for different blood lines.

Next gardening question. Has anyone tried watering plants with club soda? I'm thinking of testing it.
Never heard of it. What's the benefit? Here we pay about $1 for a 2L bottle where as in Germany they basically through that stuff after you. Price might be an issue here if that's the new thing.

BC, I'm not saying I'd use it on a producing tomato, just thinking if it would boost development during the seedling stage where a 1½L bottle would probably last a week for 8 seedlings.

The idea is that you have a lot of trace minerals in it. I was at first thinking just the carbon dioxide might be beneficial too, but googling revealed it's the salts in it people are after.

Someone said hydrogen peroxide. Did you know that 'bleach alternative' fake chlorine bleach is that? You can get it at the dollar store, gallon for a buck. Works great to bleach, whiten deer skulls for European mounts.
