Ah... I'm gonna try barrels for nest boxes... separate from the coops... most of mine would rather go hide eggs anyways...

Plus it looks like we'll be expanding for lots and lots of ducks now... :gig

I made one out of an old tote I had around... still need to make a wood kick plate for the bottom.........easy to clean light and easily moved

I've seen five gallon buckets sideways with the top on cut so their is a few inches on bottom to keep the bedding in. And nest boxes with dollar store plastic dish washing pans? something like that, for easy cleaning. Never seen floating nest boxes. I was going to attach nest boxes on the outside of my small semi portable coop on the outside, opening from the outside so they have more room inside, and easy to gather eggs....I didn't get to it...I didn't get them until July, they ain't going to lay with winter hitting....good thing I made the pop door kinda big for the giants...squeezing in on my hands and knees in poop to get eggs now...they have been smart enough to lay in the hay I threw in, but poop by the little door

I need one of those extendable grabber thingies.

I've seen those... totes here get filled with babies though...
