Pretty sure there is a meshete or two around here...

Hey Alaskan you feel that earthquake?

I believe I have two machetes up at the house. Used to use them for bringing down firewood branches..... But found that a baseball bat worked better.... made a much more satisfying Thump....

Chapparal here is mostly Ribbonwood AKA Red Shank the lighter green, and Chamise the smaller darker green. Ribbon wood sacrifices branches when there is no water. YOu can tell when te bark peels off and the wood is grey. Excellent fire wood aged on the plant.

I dont say tree because in the best of conditions it will grow to about fiteen feet tall but some places it only gets about six feet tall.

I posted a long update about the earthquake on the old folks home.

We do have a crazy amount of earthquakes up here, and volcanoes, and even eruptions, so things are built pretty well, and hold up pretty well.

The earthquake last night was super big and very long though. Biggest in maybe ten years I think.
saw some alaskan cedar at the lumber yard the other day...glad your ok............ so whats the short version bout the earth quake?
