Alaskan, that's awesome what your eldest is doing, and that you're letting him... I know you say you were young once too, but maybe you did enough for yourself and all of them too? :gig

That is actually HIGHLY possible.

I have spent lots of time saying "I was an idiot, dont be like me" :lau

Child left last night. :barnie

He just called me.... He found "the strange foreign guy with a white van that can barely speak english" no joke.

Yeah..... I thought it was funny too...

When I told spouse what I had set up, spouse was super stressed... All "our boy?!? Getting into a strange VAN?? With a guy he doesn't know?"

Silly spouse..... Just how many strange foreign guys with white vans will be standing and waiting at gate 6 at the airport at 10:15 in the morning? :idunno gotta be a low number.

Al, Yeah, nothing could build up my confidence in you any higher, than knowing that you made arrangements for a strange looking/acting, foreign, non-English speaking, man lurking around the airport, luring young men into his van, to provide transportation for your son. Can you think of any reason why there aren't a lot of people, fitting that description, hanging around at the airport? At least it made it easy for your son to find him, right? Heaven forbid he accidentally find the WRONG strange looking/acting, foreign, non-English speaking, man lurking around the airport, luring young men into his van, and go off with him.

Regardless of how strong your son is, unless he grows 12 feet tall, and turns green when he's upset, he's still mortal. Your wife actually took it well. Had it been me, I'd be in the waiting room, demanding that the surgeon hurry up, and give me back my favorite cast iron skillet, you borrowed as headgear, that got stuck to your head.

:lau

He made it safely to the monastery.... No skillet required. :D

And the strange foreign guy that picked him up... Picked up my son as well as a second guy... A russian that spoke almost zero english.

But.... They did make it to the monastery... No One was sold into slavery..... And my son has already been put to work in the olive groves.
