Dixie Chicks

Beer, sounds like crappy sellers. Hope the house didn't have surprises.

Well, Flappy was thrown out. I put him on the roost, the other chicks jumped down. Virpi the mommy showed mild interest, no aggression so far. Flappy hasn't jumped down yet, but the suspected pullet did climb up towards the roost, and Flappy gave her a little peck. I think this might go ok.

Thank you everyone for you input on the hen. Naomi is resting comfortably. Lubricant didnt work. Giving her a little olive oil helped some she had a couple of very small poos toady but very small. Her bottom was so sore today from the urates on her through the night, I gave her 2 warm baths today to soften it up. . She liked both of them and set for each and after 15 minutes she was ready to get out. So I dried her off, put with hazel on her and some mineral oil and let her walk around for a little bit. Then we did the 2nd bath. After that I again put witch hazel on and this time put bag balm on she really liked that. Then she let me put her vent in a little bit not much though. But it's not out as far toady. She's not eating much or drinking much so iI'm giving her water with a syringe. She's getting used to me. After she walked around for a bit I put her back on front of the crate and she went in and sat down on her own. I know cats won't eat or drink if they've gone without for a couple of days when they're sick so I'm wondering if chickens are like v that. So my plan is to keep giving her water with the syringe. I don't have enough confidence to tube her by myself. So I'm going with the syringe. I hand feed her a little egg with yogurt. I'll just keep trying. :fl

did you take any pictures btw?

Aaaaand, Flappy is back. Little idiot started picking a fight with everyone in there, until the most developed roo chick pecked him on the wound. So I'm guessing I'll be living in the house of smells a bit longer still. The old wound opened up a bit and now it's bleeding ever so slightly. The skin seems to be very delicate still.

Hope you get it, sounds like you have jumped through at least one hoop! It's tough getting a new job in this economy. We were just talking about it this morning but it's no longer the employee interviewing the employer. Tables have turned...

So she still egg bound? Oh dear... You can try to break the egg... Research it of course but I've read about people doing it... Then to heal the prolapse you can put her into a forced moult so she doesn't lay eggs for a while...
