Jem, I hope things went well for you at the hospital.

This cardinal was sitting outside my bathroom window. He really stands our in the white snow!

wow beautiful picture love it!! I tried to get some shots of cardinals when we were in maryland but were just too far away and my camera didnt zoom enough to my taste thats great shot!

How's everyone's evening going? I'm sitting here after injuring my leg at work (yes, it's the same one that in have a sore foot on@Outpost JWB ) I swear I'm accident prone.

Oh NO! Not good! Little girl said "OH NO" too. And we hope you get better soon. Dig out the Get Well Soon card she made for you

. I hurt my back today, but that is nothing new. Hurts everyday, just some days worse than others. I still didn't take anything for it today. I will take ibuprofen tomorrow morning when I get to work.

@vehve , I sprouted some black sunflower seed yesterday. I put it in a mason jar without a lid and am rinsing it 2x a day. I'll try to remember to get a pic tomorrow. Only seed I have on hand right now, unless I use my sun conure's seeds.

I love the wild birds that live here. The cardinals stick around all year long and are the state bird of Illinois. I'll go see if I can find the pic I have of the momma cardinal in a clematis vine.
I know there are those that say you should not feed wild birds if you have chickens but this was their home before I ever got chickens. I free range so my flock will have some "contact" with the same areas as the wild birds. I will deal with the consequences of that when and if it happens.

Chocolate time, gotta work again tomorrow so have decided against alcohol as I would over indulge after today.

Any ideas on how else to sheep proof my garbage can with chicken food in it. Appearantly my sheep love chicken food. They will break into it when the can has a bungee cord over it as well when elevated!

Found the picture of the female cardinal on her nest in the clematis vine that was on our satellite post.
May 11, 2008 Can you see her? Centered, just left of the vertical stem, face forward......she was hidden well and her color blended with nest material and vines.

Happy almost hump day all. Almost time for the weekend, Whoot! Get my three new birds Friday afternoon, ducks hatching next weekend, goat is prego. It's hers and our first time...so excited!! I even felt the baby/babies move tonight.
