Dixie Chicks

I really don't know why, but Domo Arrigato mister Roboto started playing in my head. Make it stop. Please.

Thanks vehve I haven't heard that song since the '80s when I was a kid and playing my parents old records, now it's stuck in my head...ughhh..

@vehve , pepper plants are looking good!

@ApiaryandAviary , You have to give most stores a couple days to save up the boxes for you. Because most don't have distribution trucks on the weekend. Hope you are able to get enough without spending an arm and a leg.

Onto other news. RABBITS. That old saying "Don't count your chickens before they hatch." My new saying "Don't count your rabbits even after they hatch!" We DID have 8 bunnies. Long story that I don't have time to go into because of the whole work thing, but we are now down to 5 bunnies.

Found them all. The nose does amazing things. Don't know if she is starving them to death? Crushing them? Both? But this is not working so good for the little bunnies. I was super excited to think we would have little fluff butts at Easter! I am not holding my breath now. Going to do some research after work today to see if anyway to dropper feed these babies. This morning when I got up & checked on them, there was one in the box, motionless. It was fine yesterday. Just dead as a doornail today

. If this continues, mama will be in the frying pan for Easter. She is so cantankerous. She jumps on top of them with her hind foot stepping on a baby, the baby squeals like a piglet and she just stands there with her weight on the baby! She weighs 10+ pounds. She keeps busting out of every kind of containment we have put her in. Just very unruly. She was so sweet through her whole pregnancy. Now she is a monster mom.

Today is the last Sunday I have to work!!!!

Super funny that since I put in my notice, 2 other people have. One with a transfer, and one with no plan. Just leaving. Wishing everyone there and leaving well wishes. It's been hard saying good bye, but I know the move I am making is best for our family and for my health.

Have a good day everyone!

@Outpost JWB Thanks!
Hope your bunny mom takes better care of those little ones! One time my dog found a nest of baby bunnies in the yard the the mom abandom them. We raised half and my neighbor raised half. Alas by the end if summer only 1 of ours was left. It was good for the kids to see what it takes to raise abandoned babies.
And Good Luck with the new job!!!!! :yiipchick

thats part of why your rabbit brooder box shouldnt be to big cuz the mom can decide to stick around in it increasing the chance of them squishing the babys...rabbit mama's arent the most motherly of animals...not that their cant be awesome ones just not the shining example of motherhood in an animal I've seen.......also why a brooder where the mama jumps in and out is good because otherwise some of the babies can cling to a nipple and get dragged off to their death and chill.......the fur is plenty to keep them warm, sometimes a rabbit wont pluck enough hair for the babys... you can pluck some off her to add to the baby fur pile..I use to like to keep a shopping bag wilth some of the furr to use for emergancie warm for those who idnt pluck enough also can help new mothers learn what ahd where to go and do..

That must be why they said their boxes had been compacted and bundled. And I had to buy moving boxes. I will go back on Monday and ask for a few to be picked up on thursday. Bc I know there will not be any later on in the week. Thank you for telling me about the "99" boxes.

Ok, chili growing tips and tricks. How do you select which seedling to keep? The first ones are starting to develop their second pair of leaves, so it's time to transfer them to slightly larger pots soon and kill the weaker one in each peat pot.
I'd Give them more time. The roots can't be over grown yet. Select plants with thicker stems. Also you can start pinching them back a bit to get more productive plant, just test it on a few, pinch the next set of leaves off... At the stem above the first true leaves. Nail clippers do a clean job.
