so like two days ago I thought I saw dotty squating.. I havent seen it since and was just out of the corner of my eye.. anywys I looked at her and this morning her comb and even the skin around here eyes are bright vivid red now.........correct me if I am wrong but isnt that indications of a pullet about to start laying?

I agree w JW, she sounds very close... Shelly, my OEGB squatted for me when I touched her back and the next day laid her first...
Jem, it might be yellowish, can't remember right now all stuffed up and killer head pressure... it does have a dark spot in the middle, supposedly her blood from a prick while making lace...

the red around her eyes I dont know if it's the black and white barred rock feather or what but it sure seems vivid...thats what struck me kinda like a red eye instead of a black eye look lol

Hey @Alaskan, about that bator... the 2 I have to choose from are styro types, but both have been champs at holding temp... just wanted you to know what kinds they are... I'd ship it, no prob btw...

Just gotta clean my new, used hatcher and test it this weekend...

ETA: And they both have fans...

Shalom. Flappy is still alive after the night, the chicks seem to be fine with him or her, but Virpi the mommy doesn't really like him/her anymore. Flappy mostly seems to avoid the others for now, in a couple of days he'll/she'll probably be a part of the family again.

(English really needs to develop a gender neutral way to address someone. The Finnish "Hän" is a bit confusing, since Finnish has no separate words for him or her, but Swedish incorporated the gender neutral "hen" about ten years ago to be used instead of "han" (him) and "hon" (her), it's actually starting to be used in the language by now.)
