good looking birds look like characters how were they production wise temperment ect?Quote: The black/gold hen on the front left never laid an egg until after the black/white hen died (she was the boss hen). I thought for the longest time that maybe I had a rooster but never heard a crow or saw any action happening. After Audrey died, she still only laid on occasion. The others all laid 5 eggs a week when they were laying. I brooded them in the house and yet they were not that friendly. They weren't flighty, just not very friendly.

Ugh. I'm a crispy critter. I spent too much time in the sun today after MONTHS of staying inside to hide from the cold.

I think I might need to start growing aloe again. Just for the pain.

Ouchers. You're gonna be so a-peeling! If you haven't got aloe handy, try patting the burns with damp spent tea bags.

5 eggs a week is very good for chickens that aren't specifically bred for high egg production... mine lay 6 days a week tho...

I'm also not a stickler on major egg production... I like good layers, but I do not expect an egg every single day either...
