Fishing line is probably too thin, yeah. The twine is a bit thicker, and the coarse texture gives traction.

Nylon string and thick gauge wire work pretty well. We pretty much use anything on hand.

Huh? Looks like I put cages in my buckets last year. Tied the cages together for more support and tied the branches back to the cages when they hung out and got heavy.

Al, snow here too. About 4 inches of the darn wet and heavy stuff has accumulated during the day. And there was none left yesterday... The snow even cut the power earlier tonight for about ten minutes.

Yes, unfortunately still plenty of snow. Tulips are under two feet.
