A Cattle Chute of my VERY OWN!

Stella Artois is not bad... good basic lager.

Al, actually, that chute looks pretty handy. I wish more people would buy those, instead of Karin putting herself in dangerous positions all the time. Karin's colleague wen't to look at some cows last week, a farm hand there went to fetch the next patient, when he somehow managed to get his hand between a post and a one tonne animal. I don't know what really happened to the arm, but the vet was guessing the elbow was completely shattered... so those chutes can really be handy.

Good morning all. Our taxes have been done and spent for months! We have someone do ours. Have been audited one too many times to put that responsibility on my shoulders! I am off work today and couldn't be happier! Have a lot to do. You all have a good day. I'm going to try to get some pics today.

Good morning to all.
Do they have chicken chutes?

I agree, organic is not what it used to be.
For anything.

Sometime back I saw a show on late night tv on the pivot channel about organic. Wished I had it taped.

One of the people had a walnut farm out in Califorrnia and he described what he went through decades ago.

They had a vintner and he described what he has gone through for decades also.

They actually showed these men walking their property back with full heads of hair and very young, fresh out of ag college in te 70's and the 80's, then skipped to modern day. Quite impressive their stories of evolution of organic systems, how they were hit with mites for one and dug up the vines.

Although both these men had obviously inherited the farm, based by what was said, they were both very hard working, still in the farming business after all these years of drought & and mites, they were still trying to use the organic way from decades ago and fighting the revolution of the new age market system. Others were on the show also about their field of expertise.

What I found interesting is a woman whom described the organic way to the nature way. Natural, claiming all natural was less expensive to declare than claiming organic. She said to claim organic would cost her more. What I can remember through dozing was it worked for her to claim all natural than to continue to claim Organic.

Well, for us it was costly to go to antax preparer this time around. Next year we will do it as soon as possible in hopes of preventing someone from using our numbers.
We have not experienced it first hand but know of others an it is scarey.

I know to work, in most cases they have to have a SSN, i think it may be more than people using made up numbers that actually beling to someone.

And yes, i do believe another on this site is correct. Those people here illegally want back the money they may have paid into our system and your money too, BUT try and find them and what is more, what do they look like? THAT along with our country authorities nolonger seem to care that they are here breaking the law, our country authorities may even be ordered to assist them to break our laws. Frightening isnt it?

I think the early filing the less likely We will be taken advantage of.

One other thing, does anyone think what could be behind Taxes being filed illegally by others abusing we Americans? There are groups and organizations around the world spending money but where ALL do their funds come from. Heard about oil fields being seized overseas. But what about American Tax payer's funds that are victims of Tax fraud? I think they found another chink in our armour. The pay out system. Possibly the Tax people will come up with having us answer several questions to get into our tax accounts? Agh! Something needs needs to be done soon because it is only getting worse. File taxes as early as possible is one way but there has to be another way.

The thing is the SSN, name and address should all match up so why are the TAX people checking all the boxes? Why are the tax checks not going to the claimed address?

Well my chickens are down to next to nothing. Only around 50 chickens but I have baby chicks to sell. Really, really I have not made any money off this venture. It has proven costly. The hawk our authorities release up along the parkway attack my chickens. The protected bear ravage whatever they can. The fox, coyotes, oppssum, raccoons, and mink and weasles have all taken their toll.
I had to go to extreme measures and they are not as Free Ranged as they used to be.

I am taking my flock down to the bare bones although I am adding 2-4 color varieties to my English Orpingtons I have pared down considerably on my own considering all the attacks we have been under for the last several years. So, the hawk feast during the day but Those Weasles / Mink are evil and feast during the night killing whatever.

It is better for me to give away what I dont sell to save them. Not much to eat on a Phoenix Bantam and Cochin Bantam. I feel switching over to English Oros they stand a better chance. Beside at least they are DUAL purpose birds.

Okay guys, anyone have any good ideas for coffee table legs? I'm starting to get tired of the cardboard box that's functioning as our coffee table, and I'd like to make one out of concrete. But I'd like to have something cool to use as legs. Thoughts?

I think those might be a bit too flimsy, the table itself will weigh quite a lot, and I don't want it to fall on a dog if it stumbles into it, not to mention on my toes. I've tried google image search, but either the ideas are a bit boring, or a bit too complicated. One idea I'm working on is to utilize a couple of pieces of oak I've got, just glued together counter top remnants, but one is about 22"x16" and the other one is slightly smaller, maybe 22"x 14". I was thinking of attaching them to each other to form sort of a T, and then pressing that T into concrete to make either the top, or a part of the leg construction, but I'm not sure if it would look good.
