Dixie Chicks

Is there a way to put some pallets in the run just to get them up off the ground when they want to?

deb

They don't have water in 9/10ths of the pen. It's my "Isolation pen". It's for new to the flock birds, but I haven't had any lately, and they outgrew their last pen. It has water in one small corner. The pen has bird netting over it, but has 2 covered dog crates inside for shelter. For whatever reason, they have, more than once, hovered in that one corner that holds water. I put a whole bag of pine chips in there 2 days ago. Hopefully it will do the trick. It has already soaked up the puddle.

Time for chick pics! Well, pullets and cockerels to be correct.

I had to take out two from my grow outs... The grow outs are in a spot that is getting too small for them... They keep growing, and I can't yet put them in with the rest of my flock.... They just need to hold out a few more weeks.....

The two I took out had lost some feathers... But I wonder a bit if something had started the feather picking... Since only those two have any feather loss at all

Anyway, the two I removed I tossed into the vegetable garden with some growing out ducks.

they are looking happy.
I so super hope you get a fantastic hatch
At least you have a grow out option... I am hooped. Actually, I have a small tractor that I could use for up to 3 chickens... or big enough for a couple of babies.

5 days left on my hatch... Which means they could start pipping and zipping in 3, right?

Love my adopting broody... :)

AWW cute. Good mama.

I have two blue egg layers and got three blue eggs today. Go figure. I was hoping that maybe one point- of- lay black pullet could actually have laid the third egg...until I realized for that batch of eggs, only one blue egg hatched...which I believed was the roo I rehomed a month ago. . I would be so thrilled if it turned out that the blue egg that hatched in the incubator became the black female that is now at point of lay. I am pretty sure the bird out of the sole blue egg that hatched it was the roo that I have already rehomed over a month ago. Two of those blue eggs today came from one of my two EE's. If I actually hatched out an EE/Orp cross and it is laying blue eggs....I'll let you guys know.....and there is a Santa Claus!
