To shorten a link you just type something Then highlight the stuff you just typed and click on the chain symbol up above. A little window will pop up and give you a space to insert the VERY long link in. Past it in the one listed as URL and click ok.
I pasted in your long link above. When you sent it BYC sent it to me by email. I have all my threads set this way so I can pre read to see IF i need to respond right away.

Thanks @perchie.girl I'll try that next time.
I've been just copying and pasting into the link thingy, works on the laptop, phone makes it twenty lines... If I do the same thing on the website Disqus with my phone it's long but when it posts it's super short. IDK.

We buy it at WalMart. Chris Jr. got a Red Ryder bb gun for Christmas. They shot about 20-30 bbs through the container. We put a small container with soaked paper towels inside with the chicken eggs.
The duck eggs went to a paper egg carton. The egg carton was elevated on one end by a half of a red brick. We rotated the duck eggs every time we remembered
And JUNIOR hasn't takin' SENIORs' eye out yet...good show fer Junior! Might be some hybrid vigour and an improvement on the where the apple has landed (FAR) from the tree, eh (way to go KRISTA!).
OK...guess, soaking paper towels (in paper carton = not good)...plastic emits BAD vapours and gases (yes, farts so to speak!) when heated if'n NOT meant to be heated. Like why we have FOOD GRADE plastics but even I have often wondered if all my years of heating pasta in the microwave at my former monkey suit office jobs for the governments wasn't how I ended up even weirder that now I am older (and wiser...maybe not--maybe dementia has taken hold and I just think I'm OK...anyway--I digress...). I use non-food grade plastics too for my critters...so me no better I guess.
Why are you elevating "egg cartons" on a red brick (why do we need to know it's RED...is there more to you having RED bricks over say grey or terracotta bricks?) and maybe should we re-name your handle as KLUNKY chick because you're potentially throwing bricks and they go clunk when they make contact with something and the colour RED hides blood splatter, er...maybe you have two red bricks duct taped where your eyes should be so your kid don't shoot you in the eye "Oh my eye?"
)...again I digress but inquiring minds wanna know stuff like this...
Must be on my fourth or fifth coffee or something...anyway...
Are you guys needing help with something like these??
These are desk (office tray) organizers...you go to the DOLLAR stores...they'll often have HEAPS of these...and yeh, not food grade, sure enough BUT last a tad longer than Junior's BB gun holed up spinach container, eh.
See the fuzz ducks below...the webbers ON the BOO (scare you straight eh) rubber cupboard liner...well do yah...good, get some next time in town...DOLLAR store...cheap cheep cheaper than hardware rip you off stores...
And jest so you don't think only waterfowl are raised like this...here is some landfowl....chookers...below
When yer under cover at the dollar store (don't want to be seen frequenting THOSE establishments) buying bird things (lift up yer dark glasses so you can see) and choose from the major assortment of plastic (cheap too) containers...keeping in mind the thinner ones can work well to house different eggs of different sizes and species, eh. Even different settings of eggs. Yada yada...
So that is enough of a primer, I'm heading back to my home (Pear-A-Dice thread) now and posting more thar...bug Bam better thar too...oh the bugging bug bugged...crazy Mun...
Something I bin meaning to get to...yer must maybe wanna have arsenal for hatching baby birds eh...
Bwa ha ha...I had a dog friend that had chooks...horses, cattle and ACDs too but when she mentioned maybe getting a milk goat to her spouse...he started singing "Old McDonald's Farm" which meant...under no uncertain terms NO to the GOATS!
Good luck with the zoo, eh...
Baby bird food (boiled egg yolk and natural yoghurt), melons for Mandarins...
I remember doing this up one day in May and thinking..."Hey now...zoo food...AND I could make a career outta this and be getting PAID to do this!" Ha...in a Guinea Pig's eye eh...(oh my eye!).

Tara: our son did manage to shoot our truck. Put a nice ding in it.
The spinach container worked well for raising humidity in one section of the bator for the chicks to hatch. We had to set chicken and muscovey eggs on the same day.
On day 19 we took out the auto turner. Put chicken eggs in the spinach container with the wet paper towels.
The duck eggs went into a paper carton. I said a RED brick because most people can relate to the size. It is what we had lying around.
Those dollar store baskets will not work to raise humidity.

Ah ha...well don't I look stoopid eh! Thinking it was meant to hold the eggs...no matter...I needed a reminder and an excuse and I went fur it.
Humidity...yeh, wetted paper towels in that holey spinach container would work...so does a sponge in a container with water since it adds more surface area too...raises humidity but with limited headroom, I get yer plan now and how it worked well. Thanks for bringing me back up to speed, eh.
