That's really neat. Surprising how tall it is. Tall enough for a full size door.

Got notice an hour ago that we are under frost advisory tonight......I just got the chicks moved out of the laundry room the other day:/. Split them up into 3 groups so they will hopefully stop eating each other. Anyways, they are all in crates, or little coops inside of the coop. No lights on them. Hoping they all make it thru the night.

If you have them in small groups, like less than 8 chicks, maybe you can give them a hot pad. I duct tape the hot pad into a ziplock, to keep it clean.

Beer, the suspense is killing me, did the supreme leader make a ruling on the trampoline matter already?

We're not starting on a greenhouse yet, but today we're going to build our pumpkin patch, and try to get some plants started.

Do the heat pads use electric? There is one little CFL light back at the coop. Extension cords from the garage (front of property) to the back coop. For now that has to do. They are3 groups, 11, 6 & 10. We will see. I put straw in the cages with them and they looked at it like they were afraid.

e2 dozen eggs a day. We should have about 20 people here tomorrow. Every family is going home with an 18 pack of eggs! Also using eggs in potato salad, deviled eggs, cookies, lemon bars, anything else I can throw eggs in? We have eggs coming out our ears!

JWB, quiche and Spanish tortilla are always good options.

I've been working on our pumpkin patch all day, got a lot of our troublesome spent straw, raw compost and even some vintage compost hid away in it. As it sets I'll have to add some more rested compost still, but the stuff has been sitting in the shadows and was slightly frozen solid still. I chipped away about 5 wheelbarrows of the stuff, until I said it's enough for now. We also hid a ton of dog poop about three feet below the surface inside our pumpkin patch, shouldn't be a bio hazard there but it should provide some much needed nitrogen for all the branches and pieces of wood I placed on the bottom to provide air in the beginning, and moisture retention later on. This thing is about 5 feet across.

Two scovy girls have 18 eggs now, holy crow. Hoping they sit soon. Looks like they will sit together. No feathers in the nest yet but one was making it all perdy this morning, super cute. Still no idea where my other girl has her nest...
