Thanks.
I have been building 3' x 7' x 4' tall pens out of 2x4s and OSB board. The 3x7 works well because I use a 4x8 sheet as the roof. I jigsaw out windows and staple hardware cloth for ventilation.
I have 3 of these connected to a 20x20 run.
I alternate which pens get to go out into the run each day.
One thing I am worried about is "Putting all of my eggs in one basket" so to speak....do you have back up breeders? Where do you house them? Predators seem to have a bullseye on my chickens. To help explain it better, here are the breeds I need to separate:
Speckled Sussex- 1 rooster, 11 pullets
Black & Blue Copper French Marans- 2 cockerels, 4-5 hens
Cuckoo Marans- 2 roosters, 1 hen (I'll also have Easter Eggers and Olive Eggers in the pen-approx 10 more pullets/hens.)
Black Jersey Giant- 1 cockerel, 12 pullets/hens
Crested Cream Legbar- 1 rooster, 4 pullets
