DIY CABINET COOLER INCUBATOR How we did it and TEST RUN Ready Set GO!

So, I'll try moving the probe. I put my hand there & in front of the fans is cooler than the temp by the eggs, so I'll do it when I can watch the temp carefully.

@Sally Sunshine
I changed out the light bulbs - was two 90-watts & now two ~ 70-watt ( "energy equivalent ones," so an odd number).
The thermostat prob was just above the first stack of eggs, not resting in them, just suspended in air above. That seemed to be ok, not perfect temp through-out prob due to filled auto-egg turners blocking some air flow. (Hardware cloth between turners)
But, when it over heated, I put the probe on the wooden shelf blow the lights & fan.
On that link you shared, it said to put the probe in the direct air flow of the fan.

let me know if it helps

if anyone else would like that info on probe placement

Okay, this question defeats the entire point of do-it-yourself, but..

Do you sell your coolerbators? LOL What would you charge?

Loving them, you did an amazing job on this one!!

I'm really thinking that to do this right, I/you/anyone should maybe "upgrade" to a "real" high quality, best insulated cooler as the starting platform... like maybe a Yeti; http://yeti.com/tundra-125-cooler/ Or for those who have lots of eggs to hatch, maybe even the http://yeti.com/tundra-350-cooler/ As long as cost is not an issue/object, right?
I personally can't imagine spending more for a cooler than I did for my kitchen fridge...

or if I did, cutting holes in it to make an incubator. Wonder what a bator made from one of these would sell for? twice the cost of a sportsman at least.

Joe!!! Back atcha!!! Hope things are well with you!

a YETI!!! that would be hard for me to cut into for certain! Dont think I could unless I was really really wealthy, and perhaps at that point I would just order chicks if I wanted a breed because I sure wont be selling eggs and chicks at that point! I know there are many farms that DO rely on incubation, many of these pheasant farms included, so they could be extremely useful and cost effective.

There are many ways to adapt and make this truly amazing, HOWEVER, I am simply too cheap to spend even on a motor for a turner.

I would love to see this taken to a greater thing! I was hoping to see others complete this and see it as it really could be, turners the hatcher area and so forth. Some day someone will spend the cash and hopefully post it here for us to drool over!!!
