I haven't made any in awhile, but several weeks ago made Birdie Cakes for the babies. I took some pictures, I'll have to post them on here.

Mine love just about anything...including my fingers and toes. ; )

LOL!! Well, I think it is so important to treat them because it makes them happy and that is a stress reliever and that means more eggs:)

Can't wait to see photo's you have!

Come on now, someone has to have some chicken treat ideas:)

After adding all the ingredients and stirring them up..

In the oven...

Fresh out of the oven...Mmmmm

A look inside the yummy bird cake...

A pound cake for chickens...!

Store bought Forage Cake vs. Homemade Forage Cake....you decide!

I made quite a bit as I have lots of feathered friends...so if you have just a few birds you may need to cut this in half.

4 scoops Layer Pellets
Handful of chopped greens
Handful of fresh Herbs
A few handfuls of BOSS, dog food (or cat food/Manna Pro), Oyster shell, cornmeal, and so on. I think I had about 1/2 dozen eggs mixed in, shells and all, add milk and vola! You can use water instead, but we had some older milk that needed to be used so I used that instead of water. There is really no recipe, just kind of what ever you have on hand at the moment. I got to where I'd clean out the 'fridge once a week or so and make a big birdie cake out of whatever lefts overs I had. My babies loved it!

I combine semolina n water to make a fine dough and add chopped grass and mixed seeds - pop into the oven and they r ready in no time!

Oh, right on!! I'll bet it smells good too when you're cooking it! One more question, what's the mix ratio?
