Five for sure with another 3 pipped! Wow, what troopers. I’m so impressed with them. They’re so awkward looking though, romping around like little dinosaurs. Definitely not graceful, but so incredibly cute!

10 total! They are such troopers, I’m amazed! I did have one die unfortunately. It’s intestine didn’t make it all the way in. There’s still one in the incubator that I thought I’d leave just in case, considering how today is only day 21.

I was waiting until that last one was out (the one that died took a while coming out) to open the incubator and put them in the brooder. Couldn’t get clear photos through the top, but here they are at last!

So adorable!! That's a good hatch and I've had it happen with the navel not closing, it sucks and likely due to the higher temps. My homemade spiked yesterday but they seem ok, day 15 here.

Oh no! That’s the exact same day that my spike happened too. I hope they’re alright!

Even with that spike I still had 100% hatch! I had to help two out but all survived. Between my two incubators I had 28 hatch.

I use a 25w round bulb but I already had some at my house.

I couldn’t find any either! We have a halogen bulb in there instead and it’s working great. Especially since we put in the new Inkbird thermostat.

Thank you so much! That is very helpful. Are you using a 29w halogen? We have our chicken eggs in a DIY cardboard box with a 25w incandescent bulb, but I’m afraid it’s not hot enough. Do you think it would harm anything if I switched out the 25w bulb and put a 29w halogen that’s equal to a 40w incandescent? “Lock down” begins Thursday 5/28.
