DIY Incubator

For a fan, yes, cheap little computer fan. I just got one that had a usb plug on the end and had an extra phone charge adapter thingie.

Yes a USB type plug with an A/C transformer is fine - I keep forgetting how many old cell phone chargers are laying about peoples houses, so the A/C controller is what you will need - though you still need to figure out how you are plugging it in, since the ITC-1000 doesn't have a socket on the back.

Easiest way would just be to buy a 15a socket at the big box store $2 or less, a plastic housing to mount it ($3-6), and a tiny length of household wire to make the attachments (assuming you don't have a short scrap laying around) - 14ga would be adequate, 12ga is more typical. Or strip the plug off a short cheap multi-outlet extension cord like you see used for holiday displays. wire that into your controller.

Then just plug in your transformer and light bulb.

Waking up this thread! How’d the incubator go?
I’m thinking of making one with a dyer drum and a circular turner through the center that I can turn by hand so I won’t need to individually turn eggs.

I never actually used it. I just used a normal cooler type of incubator. 2/3 of the chicks hatched that made it to lockdown.

I’ve got a great idea for a semi-automatic turner. I’d have to turn the drum and the base would be connected to a grate with a bolt in the middle(green)and the eggs would be in the bottom of the dryer drum so when I turn the drum the eggs get turned by the grate(possibly a bike wheel or the metal from a dart board) lol
Can’t wait to get started!
