DIY Thread - Let's see your "Inventions".

Aren't you the smart one?! I've heard you have to spend money to make money, so I guess you did. Lol.

So, in the video of your feeder, am I seeing a spring or extra support rod of some kind added on to the right side of the feeder? Were you having trouble with it closing properly? I wondered if the feed ever got piled up by the chickens so that it blocked the door.
Absolutely "NO" problems. The lid works excellent. I'll upload anther video shown details

Defacing money is a felony even writing on money.
I never knew that so I'll never do it again. Deleting that picture.

Whoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt unfit to be reissued, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

what about parks or zoos that have those machines where you pay to have a penny smashed into a picture of a bear or something? They breaking the law?

lol I know I have. Im the guy who superglues dollar coins to the floor at work to watch people try to pick it up.

Illegal too..... don't let the Secret Service find that out.
I found this on a jewelry-making website: "Specifically, Section 331 of Title 18 of the United States code provides criminal penalties for anyone who “fraudulently alters, defaces, mutilates impairs, diminishes, falsifies, scales, or lightens any of the coins coined at the Mints of the United States.” This statute means that one may be violating the law if the appearance of the coin is changed and represented to be other than the altered coin that it is with the intent of fraud. As a matter of policy, the U.S. Mint does not promote coloring, plating or altering U.S. coinage, however, there are no sanctions against such activity unless the intent is to be fraudulent."

Similar statements were on several other types of websites, too. If it were illegal to deface a penny no matter what the reason, then it would be illegal to have those coin-smashing machines at tourist traps (you know, where you turn the crank and it presses a little picture into the coin of where you went on vacation).

Sorry to get off topic. I just wanted to make this one comment.

Funny. I would be one who tried to pick up the dollar.

We had the same idea on the penny machines, but you were faster than I am!

Brilliant I think I may have to do an adaptation of that for use with my brooding set up I have one of those yellow brinsea ones that can brood up to 20 chicks, I think if i add a couple feather duster bits to it it might make them even happier.
I'm heading out the door right now to pick up some feather dusters for my little chickies! Brilliant! Cheap and Cheerful!! Thanks for this idea, Kassaundra!
