DIY Thread - Let's see your "Inventions".

This is not an invention, but it required some work. I found a bench on the side of the road for garbage. I picked it up and put it back together today. After I get the mildew off, I will paint it for my chicken yard. It will be my chicken watching bench. It is very heavy and sturdy.

Here in East Texas we still see them on occasion, but not often. I think all the spraying to kill mosquitoes has killed them off. Very sad, but I guess it's better than everybody getting West Nile Virus......
Seeing this reminded me that I did not have any this year and we even live in the country. I worry about spraying all that toxic stuff. Follow the money? Only the immune deficient are at risk so how is spraying toxins that kill everyone and all living bugs an o.k. thing? It has an effect for sure.

15 years ago I have not seen one since I came from Mexico. In spanish they are called Luciérnaga and we locally called them Copeche :)
