I use chamber pots. I have 6 big geese now as well. They eat out of the chamber without a mess too.

excellent idea.... to take that a little further you could use a long lowish rubbermaid container and put the lid on it then cut an opening in the lId Long and narrow to create an anti kick out lip over the top of the container. Chamber pots or bed pans have that kind of lip.

I built the shelter a while back, but my coops just didn't fit under it.


So I took out the old coops and built one large one under the shelter.







They will be sleeping in their new coop tonight.

All I need is a decent description... and an idea of the application. If you wanted to take the drawing to a fabrication shop I could give you details cut lists and a bill of materials right on the drawing. LOL... hand sketches I do for free...

Right now I dont have any CAD software or I could even solid model it...

Edit - I saw the drawing - How do you keep water out? My enclosure doesn't have a roof.

There are some great freeware CAD programs out there.... and you can get inexpensive Student versions which produce a watermark on the finished copy.... I am an AutoCad person but have taught myself Many different versions while on the job. AutoCad Mechanical desk top, Solid Works, Solid Designer, ProE, MicroCadam, RoboCad, Catia, The only difference between what they do is their DeskTop interface and work platform..... Dos, Windows, Unix... Apple.

AND the old fashioned kind of Drafting on a Drafting board with a drafting machine and Tools like straight edges, Triangles, and templates.... I drafted on the Boards for about fifteen years before I got my hands on a CAD program.

I used to LOVE doing drawings in INK and on Mylar.... I did those at General Dynamics Aerospace division.... Doing the Atlas Centaur Commercial refit. Tuning a ballistic rocket into a satellite delivery rocket.

But with all those experiences I found the drawing process takes the same amount of time sometimes longer. Especially if you are doing something for the first time... like Designing. There is an amazing amount of work you can do with just plain old graph paper, and a straight edge. Or if you have a reasonably steady hand no straight edge at all.

For What its worth DIY projects often are best done by actually Tinkering.... Taking stuff in hand and Messin with it. MANY new inventions are created out of found objects and Many Tweaks... Linkages for example... Very complicated to define with Mathematics and drafting software... The best way is to cobble up some spare parts and just do them. The best example is the ones involved with Treadle feeders..... Or Chicken pop doors..... You dont know what will work till you give them a try.

Me I cant help explain without doing a sketch.... My words fail me... because I use too many.
