Quote: LOVE using the old stumps. And they're so easy...you don't have to do anything but put them there if you already have them!
I use them both indoors and outdoors.
I used to have one of those ramps with the cross pieces of wood as a walkway down from the chicken house. Then after observing I saw that they were getting foot pad injuries from sliding on that ramp. So...I replaced them with the old logs.
Very easy for them to stride right up and down and no more foot injuries. Even the little chicks just hop right up them.
love the stumps I dont have trees but I could do some natural branches. The Ribbonwood on my property only grows about ten feet tall the branches on it are very dense almost like a hard wood. They are smooth and up to about the diameter of your forearm.
Or I just could buy some firewood .... duh....![]()

Some tools you should buy at HF......some tools you shouldn't.
They have a pretty good return policy on some stuff tho, if something fails always go back to the store and ask if they'll take it back.
Oh and a good source for the real pro tools is the local pawn shop. Especially if you already know how to use them. But you can buy manuals on line either from the manufacturer. Often times they will post a free PDF version.

This is a good tip.Or ask before you buy.
I get all sorts of stuff there. Tarps, Solid rubber wheels for the garden wagon. hand tools, shelving, Saw horses. Wood clamps vise grips rope.
Mom has a sawsall that I use on occasion that she bought there... Its probably been used about ten or twenty times. I wouldnt want it for professional use but it works just fine for little jobs. I bought a drill press there about six years ago... never been out of the package... same goes for the tile saw I bought. I wimped out on tiling the bathroom and hired a pro.
For Tools that I am going to have to depend on I get name brands on sale at around fathers day.

I like the "look" of the canvas...did you have that around or did you purchase it somewhere? (Really like!)
I made the poop sling today. I used striped water proof canvas attached with Velcro for easy cleaning. Primrose is hiding in the nest box where she is every night while they poop on her box. No more! I think life just got better for Primrose.
