Quote: No problem........A tarp or bag would make it easier to clean, a sharply angled peaked roof should keep them from getting up there at all.
A pic of your brooder would help folks make suggestions.

I am building a brooder inside my big coop and I've been stumped on how to keep the girls off the top or from pooping on the top?? Would something like this work for me?
excellent excecution. You know seeing your perches I think I may know wny your girl sleeps in the nest. Those perches arent big enough for big bird feet. If you go to a two by three or a two by four and fasten it up with the wide side up You may find everyone on the perch. BTW the way you have your perches fastened is the way I do it....
I was thinking about that one with the amount of sacks I have it would be a simple thing to just pull the strings top and bottom then feed the whole sack over the rods without splitting them then punch zip ties through to hold em in place. You could line the sacks up with some overlap and make it as long as you want.I'm assuming you cut the feed bags open to cover a bigger area?
What is that ...umm....looks like a metal can hung up on the HC to the left of the hammock.....some kind of feeder?? Nice and slim, does it work well?
Farmerbrowne, I used heavy fishing line over my outer pen. It sparkles in the sunlight and looks like a spider web. It has been up for almost 3 years now. I have never clipped my girls' wings. I don't have any problems with hawks or owls.I have a question about putting clothes line up over the coop to keep predators away. I was wondering do you guys still clip your birds wings? what if I placed the lines 6 inches apart? that would be a whole lot easier than climbing up and trying to put fencing ontop of my run. I dont want to have to clip my birds wings anymore for I cant show a few I like.
