Yes the kelp is available for the duck also, I have never noticed them wasting it, it doesn’t go very fast so I think they just take a bit now and then.
I had been looking at BOSS but can’t find a good affordable source unfortunately. I will keep looking.

Thanks for answering about the kelp. I wondered if they would eat it like crazy because they almost always love green stuff, or if they would pick at it as needed. Maybe I will try free choicing it at some point in the future.

MET in the recipe above is quite low. Around 0.22 based on standard feed tables. Means much of the CP is simply wasted, and would be expected to be excreted as waste nitrogen over the course of the day. As the MKe of the feed is also lowish, active birds might eat more to meet their needs, helping with that shortage - but I would expect more than a couple of eggs lost w/ even dual purpose birds.

A good met dense source daily would help.

Maybe it was .24. I'm on my tablet while the latest Windows update breaks my PC again. I any event, very low. Which unfortunately affects the chickens ability to make use of every other AA, whether self manufactured in obtained from diet.
