DLM in run

I just started the DLM this past week when I cleared out a bunch of brush in the pasture.

I dumped in a few wagon fulls initially and was going to spread it, but in no time the chickens started doing the spreading for me.

So I continued to dump 7 or 8 more wagons and just let them spread it around themselves. I’d say they did a good job!

Grass, vines, other weeds, sticks of every size short of being called logs, some dirt, leaves, bark,....all kinds of earthy goodness.

I also throw my leftovers (food) out there. The chickens pretty much wipe that out though.

Yes!
By the time I bring another load the previous one is usually all spread out!
I was really happy. Because it was about 92 degrees that day. And I was walking the wagon from waaayyyyy back in the pasture. I was thinking “this is going to suck spreading all this.” I came back with another load and saw what they did and thought “I love you chickens” haha.

I am trimming shrubs and trees and papa is doing his weekly mowing. I just put sand in all 3 coops, then a layer of straw/pine shavings then mix up the grass and limbs. As I said we just started dlm so it is not filled in very good just yet.
