My chick's are 4 weeks old. I finally have time to start working on their coop. Even if I didn't I'd have to make plans cause they are getting big!

This used to be a raised floor dog kennel. I built my English Pointer a better kennel so I'm recycling this one.

The plan is to put the coop on the 2x4's that extend out and a door on the other (narrow) side to get in and clean the run.

If you have any ideas let me know.

Did a little more tonight. Made the doorway and sured the structure up a little more. I plan on putting wheels on the door side so I'll install another 2x4 along the base. I'm also gonna do two horizontal braces on each side.

Are you making the coop the upper part with a run underneath? Do you plan to move it around the yard like a tractor coop?
Looking forward to your progress. Yup you be running out of time. They get big so fast.

You do know a Cornish Rock is a meat bird right?

Ha! yeah.. gonna have no problem killing these three. They are the dirtiest and eat the most food.

Yeah the coop will be off the ground and the run is 4x10.

Ok that makes sense now.
You may want to put a couple uprights one on each side at the 5 foot mark to add strength.

LOL I was a tiny bit worried that perhaps you were sold the rocks as layers since some places do not tell people they are meaties and then folks are sad when they learn the truth.
