One of my 2 future pullets is 1/2 Arucana. Might she lay the fancy colored eggs?

She's only 6 weeks--can you tell yet what kind of comb she'll have? This is Audrey.

OK. I'm going to visit them tomorrow (they're at my friend's place until I get back from vacation) and I'll try to get one! I don't care what kind of eggs she lays, really. It would just be fun to have fancy ones. Plus it's way better if I can tell whose are whose. Clarice's were always very like Olivia's and that caused a problem when I assumed it was Clarice (who is 8!) who had stopped laying and not Olivia, who turned out to have egg yolk peritonitis. It's best if I can tell for sure who is laying what!

I agree, if she has a pea comb, she's very likely to lay colored eggs. The gene for colored eggs lies very close on the chromosome to the pea comb gene, making it unlikely that the chromosome would split in such a way as to isolate them from each other (though it CAN happen, it's just very rare).

SHe's going to be super gorgeous when she's fully feathered!
