I was down at the lake and I swear I heard a two month old female doing the loud "flirty" quack. She was also following the males around a lot, but they didn't seem interested in her.

I haven't seen her sisters and brother and none of the other ducklings that age start flirting that young. Is it even possible? Perhaps I'm confusing her with another duck (Flycatcher looks a lot like her, but is much more friendly to people).

Maybe she was imitating the older girls? Or maybe its how they learn? Seems strange though, so very young

Yeah, it's very young and a lot (most) of the other adult females are doing it right now (it's a symphony across the lake). Maybe I got her confused with another duck, but I'm sure she's one of the two month olds. None of the other ones are doing that and are still acting like ducklings.

So far, the males don't seem to want anything to do with her.
