Do all coop's have to be pretty?

FREE! Love that word.... I liked it before but it even looks better now.

With the siding and stain or paint on the doors you would not recognize that ! It would look totally different!
So every coop doesn't have to be pretty but there is usually such a thin line between an ugly building and a pretty one. Sometimes just one cosmetic improvement like siding or paint makes all the difference in the world.

Beautiful bones here congratulations

It sounds as if you want pretty since you are going to add siding.

I agree that safety for the chickens is first and foremost, then cleanliness so they stay healthy.
Good food then cosmetics should kick in if ones chooses.

What about the run, I see cyclone, no cover. That isn't very preditor safe?? Are you planning on additions to secure the run area?

I've heard that preditors are turned off by pretty things, since they live in the woods and all !!

If the only choices were "pretty" OR "safe" it would be a non-question. If you can do both, you've got it made! Having a safe and pretty coop adds to the enjoyment of keeping chickens!

Looking forward to pix of your coop with the siding!

My big chicken barn is ugly ugly ugly. I dream of cute and pretty. Then the other side of me says "Your barn holds far more chickens than a cute little coop," and I forget for a little while that I want something cute and pretty.
