In my opinion duck & goose eggs smell (read that: stink), even when fresh. I've not managed to get past the smell to actually taste one.

I have a super sensitive sniffer and my girls live on a pond not in a run so I don’t know if that factors in. When I find eggs now I wash them
Off and blow them out. I can use them for confetti eggs or fill them with plaster to put in nest boxes.
That makes a lot of sense! My ducks and chickens eat the SAME FOOD so their eggs smell the same. Since your ducks are foraging on a natural pond, I'm sure they are eating things your chickens do not eat, in terms of plants, as well as critters (frogs, fish, snails, etc.). The difference in diet will translate to a difference in smell and flavor of the eggs.
run with a poolAre yours on a pond or in a run with a pool?
Mine must have personal hygiene problems. LOLMy duck eggs smell fine and they have access to a pond and two cricks.
The ones I've eaten have tasted fine. I just got a little spooked having a rotten one explode all over me in the kitchen. Oh My Gerd, that was nasty!Never smelled our eggs. We do not wash them until we are about to use them. Always taste good.
