I have a 1 1/2 yr old pekin rooster.
He has the best personality so easy going
He has 4 pekin girls with him I very rarely see him do anything but I know their eggs are fertile
I gave him 2 more hens and he wont go near them
Even the other hens dont like them
They are pekin birchens and have a sweet personality as well.
Bruno is going though a moult at the moment would that stop he from liking the new girls
I was thinking he maybe sore from new feathers growing back
If and when bruno decides to like them will the other hens accept them
At the moment I have to cage them seperate at night
During the day they are fine though as plenty of room to move if needed
Thanks

Sounds like they all just need time to acclimate. Eventually they should all merge into one flock. Sounds like it is just too stressful at the moment with molting and all going on anyway.

Our rooster (orp) got used to our other hens. They ones he didn't "like" were the ones that "talked back" to him. He liked the EE the best because she is the most docile.

Thank you for your replies I will give them more time and hopefully they will be all a happy family.
I dont like seeing anything on the outer

Max, chickens are very territorial. Adding new birds to a flock is always stressful. Your idea that moulting has influenced his behavior could be valid. Moulting is extremely stressfull for chickens. I believe your rooster will warm up to the new girls faster than the old girls will, but it will happen, at least to a tolerable level. Good luck........Pop

Im thinking about putting the hens in the same coup as bruno at night
I have read here if they all wake up together they think they have always been this way lol
My head hen is a tough little thing.
She is rather a small pekin chook but her body feels like a rock
I think she may have the short syndrome
She eats like a horse and feels all muscle. I hope she doesnt pick on them or vice versa.
She is my fav hen and really dont want her to be knocked off her pedestal.
