Do any of you have sand in the coop and deep litter in the run?

My coop is inside my run. The coop is 6x10ish. Might be hard to see....All the way back in the coop is the roost bar, nesting boxes are below poop tray. Chopped straw is over linoleum back there. Sand is in the other section of the coop. I like them both, they have been working except when the torrential like rains hit for several days, everything got a bit wet. It was probably time to clean it out (1&1/2 yrs), but it all was still pretty clean as there's the board under the roost & in the am they head outside. Out in the run is everything- straw, grass clippings, leaves, food scraps, wood chips...etc... I do have a tarp over most of the run & a sheet of clear plastic 10x25 I can roll down on both sides.
It's all been working. I've had the 3 girls for 2 1/2 yrs now. Knock on wood- no injuries, sicknesses, bug infestation, predators or the like (& I'm hoping I didn't just jinx myself). Good luck to you all.
