Do baby chicks eat in the night time?

Guys the OP wasn't saying that he was taking away their food, just that he was going to start shutting off the light at night

Yes their crops were full last night before I dimmed the light down.
I check a couple of times late last night peeking in and also early this am when I wolk up and they stayed in the same spot all night and didnt touch any food. I could hear them chirping in there late last night but they layed all night long in the same spot.
This am when i turned the light on all the way they jumped up and ran to that dish.
It was like the breakfast bell rang and said....Breakfast ladies!
And off they went. Pretty cute to watch.

It was interesting when I dimmed the light last night they all started chirping and getting really spooked and ran towards the door area crying....momma,momma so I went in there and just put my hand in the middle so they could huddle around it and get comfy. They piled on each other then piled again and each piling the little one would try to be underneath them then theyd figget and pile again trying to get that most comfy spot.
Finally after about 10minutes it looked like a stack of pancake sort of side by side and on top of each other chickies. lol... baby chicks are so cute to watch in action with their little chicken behaviors!
