Do baby chicks need grit?

If you chose to get the parakeet grit from wally world or wherever, look for the kind without added calcium.
After our first box of parakeet grit was gone, I just went out on our dirt road and scooped them up some "grit".

No they dont need it, but its good for them to have.

The reason I don't crush up my egg shells is because I am afraid my chickens will start eating their own eggs.
