Hi all,

I have coturnix quail still in the incubator (they should be moving to their brooder soon). It just dawned on me… do they need grit this early? And if not, when do they need it? Also is there a special kind they need? What works for your quail?

Thanks in advance!

Your chicks should be on a good game bird starter, so they should not need grit. The only time you would need to worry about grit is if you give them things other than milled feed. I keep mine on the ground outside, so they eat other things, but they also find their own grit.
