And if so, how big are they? Anyone have a picture?

Just a random topic I was wondering about...

I don't know about bantams. When my standards started laying. I got a lot when they first started laying, but now once in a great while I might get one.

They usually start around 20 to 24 weeks. I had a little pullet hatch out a clutch of eggs and she was just over 5 months old. I think she laid her first egg and decided to sit at the same time. I also think the time of year will affect when they start to lay. Spring will hasten egg laying and the fall (shorter days) will slow down egg laying.

Actually the yolks are pretty much normal. It is just 2 eggs in one shell. Granted the egg shell is bigger than normal. It usually happens with young pullets still getting things figured out.
