Do bearded silkies give signs that their about to lay?

I have 5 bearded silkie pullets who should start laying soon. Do chickens give any signs that their about to lay?

All breeds of chickens give a couple indications. Sometimes they start checking out the nest boxes, sitting in them for a bit of time. How old are they?
The main test is the space between the pointy pelvic bones. If it is over 2 finger width, laying is imminent. If the space is less than 2 finger width, it is not.

They are about 5 months old but i think some might be older
