Do book editors not proof this stuff?!

My motto is read all you want (it's fun after all)but feel free to believe only half of what you read.
I think there is alot of good info in books, but nothing beats good ole fashion experience.
Thats what I love about BYC, these folks have experience.
Also most folks on here say "This worked for me." not "This is the only way."

So I need alien proof padlocks?!

good luck finding one.. i know how aliens are.. they can beam that poor hen right off the roost.. do all their "experiments" on her and plop her right back where they found her... the hen will never admit to any of it though.. she just thinks it's all a bad dream caused by drinking too much sour milk and munching on pickles dipped in rancid lard... and the roosters will certainly keep their beaks shut about what happened.. they know if you found out how their hens got impregnated that they will lose their "job" and end up at Camp Kenmore.. after all.. why keep a roo that is only fertile a few months out of the year when wandering aliens will do the job for ya!

well holy poop on a cracker! I would email the editor a link to BYC and tell them to re think things

I wonder where she got some of those ideas?

ETA: Just reading the title and description, it sounds like a book I would enjoy and therefore purchase. Glad you have saved me some money!

BTW: I think this (esp. the italic section) explains everything:

"Nicole Faires is an adventurer, self-proclaimed eccentric, wife, and mother of three girls. She grew up in a semi-nomadic homeschooling family and spent her early years in rural Montana on a hobby farm where she raised chickens, grew her own food, learned to crochet, read out-of-print books by Masanobu Fukuoka, and dreamed of the Amish. She now lives in beautiful British Columbia as a champion of renaissance sustainable lifestyles in a steampunk bus that is in constant transformation. She continues to seek new adventures and local food with her family." (Quote from website)
