Do brody hens stop laying eggs?

had a hen go broody. Took 4-5 days of locking her out of the coop to get her to stop. you'll know when she can go in the coop and not stay in the nest box. mine still took a total of 3 weeks to start laying again. over a week after she was no longer broody. if she lays an egg outside the coop, she should not be broody anymore.

throw them out? "fresh" grocery store eggs are often 9 to 12 weeks old. Eat them, cook them and feed them to the chickens, or give them away. Don't waste them....

you can break a broody, and I have. I gave her golfballs to sit on, then took them away. A week and a 1/2 later, she was laying again. But thats a Sumatra. They are different than the average chicken

Okay, so it has been eight days now of locking her out of the hen house and nesting boxes and she seems to have returned to normal. This morning I opened everything up and she was more interested in getting out to free range. Hopefully, today she will lay an egg and I'll know for sure that this broody business is over. Thanks everyone for some really great advise.

the last time my hen went brody, she sat on 8-10 eggs. Only one hatched. Now she is sitting on only one egg. Its been two weeks. I am starting to put other eggs under her. Is that something i can do? of should not?
