Do button quail do good in pairs or trios?

I found a female for sale on CL and I want to buy her, I also want to get her a companion or two. Do they do well in a trio (male/2 females) or just a male female pair?

Surprised no one has answered you yet....buttons are a pair only quail...some people will say they have colonies and trios, etc...but never show you the pics of their defeathered quail or talk about the "battles to the death" they have.

Buttons are monogamous and mate for life...get a pair and they will be happy.
