Wow I actually feel honored to talk to you lol. I hear great reviews about your eggs and buttons that hatch from them. I spent a long time reading your guest book. I have looked at your page SEVERAL times. So 5-6 years for females, how about the males, same or longer?

The males usually last longer

it's harder to introduce a mate to them once they have been with someone for so long. I have some with a 3rd or 4th wife and others that would rather want to be alone. My oldest button is 5 right now so it can be done.
