Do chickens always stick together?

Hi all, I have six 20 week old pullets. They free range most of the day. I notice they always are in the pack together and if one is separated they cry and find eachother again. Does this change at all as the age? Just curious, thank you.

Just these ladies or are there other flock mates that are older???

My fresh pullets stuck together like this until after point of lay. Once they started laying, they spread out a little. Now they are generally in the same area (typically tearing apart cow pies in the pasture) but not necessarily in eye shot of each other.

I have found that my chickens always seem to stick together, even as they grow older. However, I've also noticed that, as Something Cool said, once they start laying, they'll become less tight-knit and spread out a bit. I always find them together and in the same area, but they are not always in a group like how they were when they were younger. :) Of course, it will depend upon your chickens in particular.

Thanks! Yes just the six of them.
