do chickens attract rats/mice etc?

We leave the door open on the run sometimes just to see if the chickens want to take the snow path. Right now we have The puffiest looking Gray Squirrels around. They pretty much look like cattle down there they are so well fed.

Mouse update: My usually Lackidasical flock took out a mouse Sunday morning! I was a little late getting down to the coop as it was pretty cold anyways. So for morning boredom busting they killed their food stealing unwanted vermin room-mate. Found it frozen already on the poop boards.

I had Buff Orpingtons and Salmon Faverolles years ago. Gentlest chickens ever. Toads, snakes, mice, rats, chipmunks, etc.... never stood a chance when they got into the flock's domain. We found more dead than not in the yard.
