About aviary color schemes.....
Go in the garage and find all cans of non-toxic paint that you will never need, flat, gloss, whatever. Pour them all in a bucket, mix well, and paint that color. It's economical, fun, and the chickens won't care. I did this and had enough paint leftover to paint the inside of my shop including the ceiling. As far as those whose chickens are eating paint flecks, let the girls out for a good daily run. They are bored. And if you use Behr paint, it won't peel or flake. If there is enough gloss in the paint you can hose down the inside after one of those all night poop throwing parties. We've all seen evidence of that on occasion. So don't worry about color - make yourself happy. After seeing the wild colors in the pictures on BYC, well, anything goes. Have fun!
