I have quite a few bantam Cochins. My older birds are a year and a half. My younger group is 7-8 months. In the younger group I have 11 colors, four of them frizzled.
My only red frizzle girl, Okra had always been one of my favorites. Her mahogany red feathers curled in the perfect way. She is stunning. In the past month though random feathers are turning white. She gets more white feathers every week. She does not have parasites and none of the other birds are having this issue including her red smooth feathered sister. I've had birds off and on for 30 years and have never seen this.
Does anyone know what could cause it? Is there any hope for her to moult back to her beautiful deep red next fall?

It could be color leakage from genetics (whatever her genetic family tree holds) or I have heard that it can be sometimes caused by stress or illness. I've had birds get some white feathers when they molt, sometimes the next molt they come in again the original color. Since they've been hatchery birds, I assume it's genetics rather than illness, since they are all fine. I have a couple of gold laced wyandotts right now that have a few random white feathers.

I've got a gold laced polish hen who is developing some white feathers in her crest. She is only 2 years old!

Me on the other hand....👵🏽😂

Chickens colours can continue to develop and change with each molt, white and other colour leakage can be quite common in birds that are completely healthy, but may not be from the best breeding stock and don't meet the SOP despite being pure bred. Exactly as Coach explained. If your not seeing other signs of stress, I wouldn't worry too much.
